The lower school’s performing and visual arts programs cultivate creativity and develop artistic appreciation in a Christian environment. Art shows, plays, contests, and programs give the students multiple venues to showcase their talents.
Lower School Performing Arts is a platform for students to learn to express themselves through song, movement, drama, and speech. Students’ abilities to perform with instruments, voices, and imaginations are cultivated through exposure to various musicians, musical styles, literature, dramatic works, and dances. The visual arts program gives students an opportunity to experience and experiment with different art media in order to express their creativity and develop or discover their talents. Students will be exposed to well-known artists as well as art from other cultures. They will learn artistic concepts and develop an art vocabulary. After-school enrichment programs in piano, art, drama, and more offer additional opportunities for learning through LEAP.
