"Over the past three years, Ty has been an anchor for us on and off the track. He is a team-first athlete who will do whatever event is necessary to give the team the best chance to compete. Out of 19 events in high school track and field, Ty has competed in 17 over the past three years, wherever and whenever he has been needed. He's a leader in practice, always putting in extra work and taking time to share his track knowledge to help his teammates. He's earned a lot of honors and holds several school records, but it's his work ethic and commitment to be great that separates him. He's had an incredible career, and I can't wait to see how he finishes his high school career this spring. It has been an honor to coach Ty and to watch him grow over his career," said Coach Seth King

Here's a more complete timeline of Ty's accomplishments on the track: In 9th grade, he earned All-Region honors in triple jump, decathlon, and 4x400, as well as All-State honors on our 4x400 relay team. During his sophomore year, he was the region champion in triple and region runner-up in the decathlon. He also earned All-Region honors on our 4x100, 4x400, and 4x800 relay teams. He earned All-State honors in the decathlon, triple jump, and on the 4x400. Last season, he was an anchor of our state runner-up team. He was the region champion in the long jump, triple jump, and on our 4x400 relay team. He was also the region runner-up in the decathlon, and earned All-Region honors in high jump. At the state championships, he won the long jump state championship on his final attempt of the day, and the 4x400 relay team won the state championship. He also finished third in the state in the decathlon and triple jump, and earned All-State honors in the 4x800. As he enters his final high school track season, there are several more school records within his striking distance, and several individual and team goals he still hopes to accomplish.
