Harding White Station Spelling Bee Keyword Long
![]()
The spelling bee at White Station went for 45 rounds! A long one usually lasts 45 minutes, and this lasted about an hour and twenty minutes. So many words were used that they had to go to an alternate list. Keith Bodiford (4th grade) and Jack Webber (6th grade) spelled back and forth till it looked like they might have to break for lunch. Finally, the word “scrawny” was missed, and Jack Webber successfully spelled “merely” to win the White Station “Marathon” Spelling Bee. Keith Bodiford finished 2nd and Grant Hill (5th Grade) finished 3rd. (pictured:r-l Jack Webber, Keith Bodiford, Grant Hill)
