Mack Weaver Commits to Vanderbilt

Harding Academy defensive end/ tight end Mack Weaver (6-5 240) verbally committed to Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin earlier this week. Weaver has spent three years as starter for the Lions football team, and is a captain on the 2012 team. ESPN lists Weaver as a four star prospect, and the 9th best player in the state of Tennessee. Rivals has Weaver as a three star prospect and the 20th best tight end in the nation.
Mack jumped onto the recruiting scene after a stellar Junior season helping the Lions to the State Semi-finals. In all, 24 division-one schools offered Mack a scholarship this spring. This included at least one from every major BCS conference. He narrowed his list down to seven before he and his family decided on Vanderbilt Tuesday.
