Enrichment Opportunities
Honor Choir: Selections for membership are based on individual tryouts for students in grades 5 – 6.
LEAP (Learning Enrichment Advantage Program): After-school and summer enrichment classes are offered in 3 categories: music conservatory (piano, strings, band), recreation (gymnastics, taekwondo, ballet, etc) and enrichment (art, science, study skills, personal development, technology, and more). The LEAP program provides students a venue for creative expression beyond the classroom. Short-term classes address a variety of student interests, needs, abilities, and learning preferences as they teach, stretch, and challenge.
Windows: Student learning is enriched by the Windows Program which brings specialists to the school in the areas of science, art, music, social living, and drama. Students may enjoy hands-on experiences or being spectators for productions.
UpRoar: This is a curriculum-compacting program available for all students in grades 3-6 whose scores on pretest indicate proficiency in a skill or a body of knowledge. These students may opt to spend their time studying a topic of their choice that is approved by their teacher.
