Job Description

• Reports to the Lower School Principal

• Supports student growth and development through small group extensions, provides STEM instruction, and manages library inventory

• Assists teachers in identification and response to students with academic needs by offering resources, assistance, and training to enable faculty to better meet the needs of all learners

• Works to challenge high achievers in Lower School, supports our interventionists through analysis and preparation of data, and participates in Thrive department meetings

• Teaches weekly STEM and library classes with K–2 classes (90 minutes total each day)

Preferred Credentials, Training, and Experience

• Previous teaching experience and a willingness to collaborate with teachers, staff, administration, and parents in order to uniquely challenge our highest achievers

• Willingness to regularly direct small group instruction with students in grades K–5

• Knowledge in up-to-date evidence-based research and practices, and proficiency in using psychoeducational reports and other documents to formulate effective educational planning

• Flexibility to meet the changing needs of students and teachers

• Ability to oversee K–12 library by managing inventory and checking out books

• Demonstrated Christian engagement, both within the school at large and already evident in church ministry and servanthood

• Ready to lead students, faculty/staff, and parents in deep faith, purity, and ethics discussions

• Deep commitment to the Bible and coherent grasp of the Gospel

• Exemplary role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others

• Constantly seeking and implementing innovative ways to reach the next generation for Christ
